Yoga equipment...? I have just started a yoga program at home. What can I use from around the house for equipment. Like yoga straps, blocks, one of those little low chairs to meditate in, etc. I want to do these thisngs myself, not from a store.
What pilates/yoga equipment do I need to practice at home? Any suggestions? I want to do pilates to tone and sculpt my body. The two kits I am looking at both have different equipment. Which should I choose? 1-Karen Voight Body Sculpting System * yoga mat * 2 Vids and booklets * two genie balls 5 lbs weights * 65 cm stability ball Pilates kit * 3 flat and 3 circular bands for stretching * 65 cm stability ball * yoga strap - 8 ft * yoga brick ( whats this for?) * two hand grips * Yoga mat * Yoga chart I'm a beginner so I'm not sure what equipment I will need. I know I definiately want the stability ball.
Yoga ball cut in half on black flat platform, what is that piece of equipment called? Bally's and 24 hour fitness who sponsor the biggest loser have a piece of equipment that looks like a yoga or balance ball that has been cut in half and put on a round black disk style platform that people can either stand on the ball side or flip it over to use it for balancing when doing upper body exercises. I can't figure out what this piece of equipment is called so that I can buy one. Does anyone know what it is called or where I can find one? Thanks!
Need recommendations for fitness equipment: yoga, pilates, stretching? I want to install a small home gym in a 9.5 x 11.5 room (8' ceiling) on my second floor. The purpose of this is two-fold: I need to lose weight, and I need to regain strength and flexibility. I was thinking of installing a ballet bar or parallel bars and buying a new or used Total Gym (for pilates). What do you all think? Anyone have experience with Total Gym? Any recommendations on an alternative piece of equipment?
Can I set up equipment for aerial yoga in my home? For those of you that are familiar with aerial yoga, it is your same basic yoga except you are suspended by fabric trapeze... also commonly referred to as silks or tissue. Acrobats often use it in shows like Cirque du Soleil. It didn't seem like it would be hard to find but maybe I just don't know what to look for. Can anyone help? I would like to buy some of the fabric online and whatever I need to attach it to my ceiling so that I can use it for aerial yoga.
I want to start working out but I have no equipment and I cant go outside how do I work out besides yoga? I want sorta hard stuff to let me become fexible. whoever answers i will put as best answer to WHOEVER if its a good idea and not stupid like run around in cirlces

What are some good pilates & yoga equpiment that work? I'm looking to start doing pilates and/or yoga and I just want things I can do from my own house. Does anyone know some equipment that is at a reasonable price and works?
I want a daily exercise routine without having to use equipment? I would like to improve my physique and have a BMI within healthy levels. I want to know any decent routine for building muscle mass and toning but one that doesn't require using barbells, dumbbells or such equipment. I walk for about an hour a day and also include push-ups and crunches but I cannot shift that last layer of fat to get a six pack. Ideas I have had include daily yoga and some army-type 10 minute work-outs. I would like a routine that can be repeated daily so does not target specific muscle groups i.e. overall fitness and bodyshaping routine. Thanks. Additionaly: An exercise that I do not have to travel to or seek an instructor. I will be starting thai boxing soon after a long wait but I can do many of these exercises at home now.
yoga......? were can you buy cheap yoga equipment online or in the uk?
What is the hardest workout program you can suggest (without going to the gym more than once a week) ? I need something effective and on the insane side of challenging. I don't have access to any weird or special equipment (yoga balls, climbing ropes or gear, parachutes, etc...), so that stuff is out of the question. I need a workout program that will incorporate as many elements of physical fitness as possible (strength, endurance, speed, pain tolerance, stretching, nutrition, and long lasting fitnes). Your suggestions are appreciated.
If I want to practice yoga at home, about how long should a session take doing all the poses? Less than 1 hr? I have videos and all the equipment, but I want to do my own regime. Would a class be better in training and keeping on course?
Why are asanas & pranayamas in Yoga not discussed that openly as abs & crunches ? I always wonder why a major chunk prefers to opt for a loud work-out regime instead of a serene & effective Yoga plan. is it because there aren't many the so called "happening" Yoga places ? Or is more expensive ? Less reliable ? boring ?? is exercising better with upbeat loud music & equipment practices ?
I want to try yoga? I would like to try yoga but before i spend my money on classes I would like to learn a few basic begging poses to see how i feel about it i have equipment for yoga and i know i should be on a hard surfaced floor in a quite room. Please help me and teach me some poses but please no websites thank you

I'm not a keepfit fanatic, but I know I'll quickly turn to blubber if I don't do something. Over the two years I have put on around 20 pounds from lack of exercise! Sorry but I have two kids to get ready for school and the babysitters! I get up early enough! Something I can do right after work before the craziness starts

Are there any stretches I can do to work into a split (side and front) while standing up? I have carpet...? I stretch out into splits while holding my turnout (front) in ballet. Since I have carpet at home there is not much sliding and definitely no barre to help me down gently. Are there any standing stretches I could use. Also, should i work on front splits or side splits first? The equipment I have to use is all basic living room and dining room furniture, a large swiss ball, yoga mat, and a boyfriend if needed. Thanks!

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any exercises that I can do at home to help keep me active besides the obvious. If you have a website that perhaps has like a diagram that shows how to do the exercise that would be great. I have tried yoga and pilates, tae bo, but would like to see if theres anything different I can try and if I can make use of household items to work out with?

I have just a joined a Gym and would like to know tips on the best exercise programs for max weight loss.? I have just joined a Gym that will open in September. I am so excited cause I feel like I am finally going to take control of my life. I am a 20 year old Aussie female and I am 4'11 and 130 pounds. I wouldn't call myself fat just not in my ideal body. The equipment I would probably use are Treadmill Rowing machine Stepper & Bike and I want to do a Yoga class and a dance class. I'm just curious as to any tips people have about the best machines and classes to use and participate in and appropriate orders. I know that to boost the metabolism you are to eat 5 - 6 small meals a day, but honestly it's almost impossible to do for me. I only ever eat 2 normal sized meals (with the odd apple or biscuit in between) and I have little time to eat 6 meals with uni and work taking up most hours. Would that be a problem? Also, I'm Queen of eating chips while watching movies with my partner. Would I really have to stop that? I'm not after immediate weight loss just a healthier lifestyle. Any tips?
P90X Start-up Equipment? Hey everyone. I just ordered the P90X program and I'm wondering what I need to go out and buy in terms of equipment, and more specifically in terms of the amount of dumbbell weight required. I have a yoga mat and I'm going to purchase something to do pull-ups, but I'm wondering what weight of dumbbells do I need? Should I go as low as 20 or 25? Should I go as high as 50 or 60? I don't want to go out and buy a whole range of dumbbells and only end up using two or three weights. Also, if I get dumbbells do I need a resistance band? Thanks, Justin Well thank you for not answering my question, assuming I have goals which I do not, and pitching your own product. If that were the point of this website then your response would be great!

Joining the army? I am thinking about joining the army. I am so unfit, I probably couldn't even run a mile without timing. =[. Anyways, I would love to know how to get a routine started and how I should work my way up. As of right now, I have yoga equipment = ball, mat, straps, etc... and I have a small gym at my apartment that has treadmills, weight lifting machines, etc.. What should I start doing and how should I build up. Also, how often? I do not know when I would sign up. I am still debating, but I need time to prepare. I can not be the person who is always behind. I have to do 13 push ups, 47 sit ups, and run 2 miles in 19:42mins. I believe I could work up to a good fitness level. I am not overweight. I am 5'3 and about 133pounds. I just have not been active in my life lately. I drive long distances for work and usually sit at work.
How do I get my brother to come over and work out in my gym? I have all the cool equipment (jump rope, those hand sqeezie things, couple of 5lb weights, thigh master yoga mat) he said he needs to lose a few pounds.

I am 13 (almost 14) and I need weight loss tips.? Well, I am about 5'1" - 5'3" and I was about 150 p. I just wanna tone up my stomach and maybe my legs. I have an elliptical machine and yoga equipment and everything and pool which I can go swimming in regularly. I just seem to get bored with exercising. I don't stay motivated and concentrated. My grad. is coming up pretty soon, in less then 2 months and I'd really like to look good for it. So, any tips? And, I'm not trying to be too harsh on myself, but I have checked the BMI scale and I am a bit over weight. :|
P90X Serious equipment question? In the Bring It video it says that you will need a full set of weights. In some internet blogs, people say that you will only need up to 25 pounds. I am thinking of buying something similar to Bowflex. They have 2 versions. The first one goes up to 24 pounds and the other up to 50 something pounds. So which one should i purchase for P90X? Also, should i get a pull up bar? Or go all the way with the bands where i will not have to purchase weights or a bar? Lastly, what is the difference between a yoga and a plyometrics mat? Will a regular yoga mat work for P90X or no? Please serious answers only. Thanks
Any good 3 hour workouts? good three hour workouts with limited amount of equipment (yoga mat, treadmill, weights) please map out, easy to read, starting at 7:00 and ending @ 10:00. (not required, but easier to follow) I am finally following through with my new years resolution. :-) I don't mean like super intense workouts, just ones I can do to get back in shape
Yoga Equipment? Can anyone recommend a online site where I can purchase a good mat, bag, books, dvds, maybe some other things for a yoga beginner? Don't want anything too pricey. Thanks!
Love at first sight...again? walked into a store- a yoga clothing and equipment store. Searching for some organic shirts and bottoms. An employee, as they normall do, asks if I need any help. I ask for what I'm looking for. And the nice man shows me, after a few mintues with him- still thinking nothing of it. Our eyes met. Amazing.. breath taking. My heart melted. As you can tell because I am still thinking about it. But I guess my question is- is this okay to be feeling like this? I'm married! I'm in love with my husband. And I feel as though I'm completely head over heels, for just this one encounter. We spoke and I found out he was vegan just like me. My hubby isn't. He was into yoga, just like me (I'm a yoga teacher). My hubby hates yoga. I just need some advice. Thanks Guys! Or your opinion- has this ever happened to you? great advice- thank you guys! I won't go back, it's not worth it at all!
i bought a waist cincher. will it reduce mine? supposedly brasilian women wear while working out. in brasil it's called a FAJA. Question: does it REALLY work?? Website says I can reduce my waist 1-4 inches in 30 days. Website says to wear while excersing and also to wear everyday for 2-3 hours a day. I am dieting and working out with Yoga and equipment in a gym. So I will wear this thing while working out. I have lost about 20 pounds so far since July 2007. Has anybody used one of these AND did it reduce your waist size after 30 days?? Desperate to get a waist line because my body shape is slim hips but no significant waistline. Body shape is like a ruler.

New routine? Ive been working out and excersiseing lately, but im getting bored. I do Tai-bo, I jog, and I lift weights. Im getting bored with those activities, even though i still like excersising. Any suggestions of some new things i can do at my house, with the minimum equipment? Ive tried doing dance DVDs and Yoga ones, but im not that into dance, i find it a little lame( not to be rude to dancers, its just not my kinda thing). I like fitness. im just bored, ANy suggestions at all with be helpful. Thanks y'all
2 months to do this...? Im always super busy, school, work and no time to work out. I have set a goal to lose my bellyflab by june 13th, it's been 3 weeks since i set that goal and i havent done anything about it. Im too worry about school and getting money to pay for my school. I'm trying to go to the gym as much as i can now, without affecting my studying time. Since it's hard for me to get into the gym often, what can i do at the gym to maximize my workout and also what can i do at home to stay active. The only equipment that i have at home is a yoga ball. Going for walks after dinner is not possible since it's still really cold here, but as soon as it gets warm i will start doing so. OH i forgot, im not a morning person, i hate waking up, many times i even fall asleep while i get up to the bathroom in the morning, nothing before 8am works for me, i rather sleep than anything else
What do YOU think I should do to exercise? I am 5'3 and 195 pounds, 24 years old, almost 25. I want to lose weight and start taking better care of myself. I have changed my diet to lots of raw veggies and fiber, much less processed food, but now I need ideas for exercise. Soon, I intend to buy an elliptical machine, but for now, I need to do stuff that requires no equipment. What do you suggest for me? Running? Yoga? I am excited to hear your thoughts and opinions on what I should do to become healthy! I have no health conditions, if it is important for you to know this.
