Does anyone know if there is a yoga that combines all of the types of yogas together? I am interested in starting yoga. I am an 18 year old athletic guy. I only know a little bit about yoga from what I've read online. I am not sure which yoga to do. They all seem to have such great benefits. I don't want to miss out on the benefits of any of them. Is there a yoga that incorporates all of the elements(ie, breathing, meditation, flexibility, strength, endurance, spirituality, stress relief, etc)? I want to cover all my bases and take a well rounded approach. Right now, I just do meditation and I jog and do calisthenics. I am really excited to know more about yoga.
How to pick a yoga class or a yoga type? I want to start doing Yoga but I am a liittle confused about all the types out there. I am very ignorant about it.... how to pick a class or a type? Can someone tell me the difference between them? Im looking into it for strength, stress relief, and neck and back pain...
What are the benefits of yoga and which is best for me? I know there are different types of yoga. Which is for someone who has a build of 5'5" and 110 pounds ( so no weight loss, or heavy-sweating type yoga)? I just want to maintain flexibility and give myself more energy without coffee.
Yoga types? What type of yoga is generally taught in gyms? I attend the yoga class at my university but am unsure of the type I am engaging in. I have a bad back (two injuries already at the age of 23) so yoga is the best way for me to keep in shape without too much impact on my spine. Anybody that wants to share their knowledge of yoga and its multifaceted impacts and the types commonly taught in gyms are welcome...
Types of Yoga, good, bad, etc...? I've heard that some types are "bad" and poisionous somehow. Can anyone explain the major types and why one would be better than another and why any of them could possibly be bad for a person?
What type of yoga mat should I get? I need one thick enough that my knees won't bruise (My knee caps are out of place so my knees are very sensitive) I do not have very good balance so I figured maybe no slip is there any particular type or brand I should look for? My first yoga class is in a few weeks.
yoga.......? what does it do? is there any type of yoga that gets your body in shape? to make you lose weight? (like only 5lb's) if there is what is it called?
Is there a book that explains yoga completely? I'm looking for a book that covers all the different aspects of yoga as well as all the types of yoga. I just started doing what I think is called Astanga yoga. I am so confused though because there are so many different words to remember and different types of yoga (ie. plasha yoga, asana, and I can't remember all the rest). I want something like an encyclopedia of yoga, so that I can learn about the philosophy, the types of yoga, the meanings of all the words, the history, the poses, the mantras, etc. I don't want a book that focuses on just one type of yoga or on just one aspect of yoga. There are plenty of those. It's like a wild goose chase trying to find the essential stuff to read. Is there a book that covers all of the yogas?

How would I go about opening a yoga studio in Youngstown, Ohio & what type of yoga would be popular? I have been teaching for 3 years. I am certified through the yoga alliance to teach Hatha yoga. I am trying to find my niche here. I teach at a number of places & teach different classes to suit my students. I've dreamed of opening my own place, but should I just have a certain style ie: ashtanga or restorative, or keep it diverse? This area is hard to judge. Also is there a place to go to help instructors open there own place? I do get e-mails for the teachers through yogajournal.com What should my budget be?? Should I have a number of instructors, or just me & someone else? Should I have fitness classes to help with costs. Any suggestions would be great.
What are the different styles of yoga and what do they focus on? I know there is a type for weight loss and such, and I was wondering what are all of the different styles of yoga and what do they do for the body? All I know when it comes to terminology is hatha, and I'm not even sure what that does lol. I don't know the terms so if someone could explain those too I'd appreciate it. I'm really interested to know if any type of yoga can give outer (as well as inner) strength and stamina. If there is such a thing could you please tell me more? Thanks in advance!
What kind of yoga is good for tension? I've always had a problem with tension, for apparently no reason. Now that I work long days, by the time I get home it feels like everything shoulder up is just tight, especially my throat and forehead. An advil would do the trick but I don't want to rely on that. Can anyone recommend some type of yoga, breathing technique, meditation, anything specific? Thanks.
what type of yoga should i practice? since everyone who has ever done yoga recommends it i was wondering what type i should do. kundalini really appeals to me because of its spiritual mystic side, but im kind of worried i might find a fake teacher. im also in toronto if anyone wants to recommend a place.
what type of yoga do you do? please share your experience? I have been practicing Dahn Korean Yoga for a while (well 3 months last year, and then returned after a break, and now for 2 months) i feel a strong connection with the meditation and movement. I felt that the time i was away i was constantly being called back to it. What do u think about Yoga? what have your experiences been? What types have you tried?
Should I do yoga alone at home or be brave and take a class by myself? I've never taken a class like this before and am a little cynical about the "yoga type".None of my friends want to take this with me and I also am not a fan of half naked people in my face plus the classes are a trek. Anyone know any good Yoga dvds? I want to be toned and fabulous.

Why do some yoga books have a whole bunch of poses and sequences, while others have only a handful? Are there different types of power yoga? How are hatha, asana, astanga, and asana yoga related? I want a book that includes all of the possible movements. How do these people go about choosing the exercises and poses that they include in their book? Why not just include all of the movements? Can you just take any of the poses and make up your own sequences? Or are there certain ones that need to go together? I can't find a satisfying yoga book because I feel like if I choose one, I'll be missing out on stuff that might be in other books. Is there a book that contains it all?
Which type of yoga will make you the most flexible? rop? I am already in good shape - thin, with good muscle definition, especially in my upper arms (mostly genes, but I racewalk and go to the gym every day, including strength training). However, I am not flexible - AT ALL. I want to do a type of yoga that can make me flexible! When I was a kid, I could do the splits and it would be cool if I could do it again. Weird, I know.

A certain type of yoga im looking for?!?!? Ok so i saw this guy on the beach and he has doing a headstand for like 5-10 minutes. My grandma told me it was a certain type of yoga where you stay that way and all your blood rushes to your head. Once you get back up, this enables you to think so much clearer and have amazing ideas. Anyone know if this actually works or what type of yoga it is? Thanks!

Best Yoga to treat Depression? I recently got into Traditional Chinese Medicine / Acupuncture and therapy from a Psychologist... now, I'd like to explore Yoga on my road to recovery. One thing to keep in mind is that I am not flexible at all. I can't even touch my toes. The furthest I can probably reach is a little past my knees =/ I know there are several types of Yoga, so what would be the best type to treat Depression? And are there any good DVDs out there that are aimed for beginners AND Depression?
Yoga: What exactly is YOGA? A religion? A philosophy? Does it encompass all religions? Who can give me a good understanding of what it is? Aside from putting the mind/body into order is it a philosophy or religion? Why are there so many types of yoga? If they are associated to a philosopy or religion, is there something common linking them? I live in a cosmopolitan city, no goats here. They're all yours. Have fun and be gentle. I know it comes from the middle east and they worship that ladylike thing with the elephant nose, but is that just one form of yoga? Meditation with the right music/guidance is suppose to free and release the centers in the body which balance everything out. That is about all I know. MEDITATION is a good thing for everyone no doubt about that.
