Is 30min cardio 5-7 x a week, strength training & yoga 2 x week enough to lose weight and tone muscle? I'm trying to start a good workout program that I can stick with. I have a jump rope, a bicycle, and cardio dance for cardio workouts that I was going to alternate throughout the week. Plus, I have those elastic bands (never used, granted) that I have a video for to do strength/resistance training, and I was planning to do yoga and/or pilates twice a week... and I really want to know if this is a great exercise program to help lose the weight and tone muscle. Thanks!
How to find money to pay for a yoga teacher training certification? It's not that much money, but $2000 is a lot for a poor girl like myself. Are there any scholarships or funds available that can aid somebody like me to be able to get my 200 hour certification to become a yoga instructor? Or any ideas on how I can fundraise the money?
Is yoga a good substitute for weight training? My personal trainer says there is no substitute for weight training, however, I see a lot of yoga instructors who are well-defined and they don't do any weight training, only yoga. Serious answers only please.

How long should one practice in a particular yoga program before deciding to starting a teacher training class I've been practicing yoga off and on for about 6 years. I'm truly in love with this mind/body/spirit connection. I've since left my job in the hospital in nutrition and decided to begin my massage practice again and would like to implement teaching yoga as well. I feel in yoga every person is in their own journey so I should not judge myself. However I have self doubt and wonder since I'm not able to complete some asanas to the full expression should I not start the teaching training program? I've been wanting to do the program for about 3 years and question is the self doubt is part of the journey? Not sure what to do since I feel a good teacher can achieve most postures in the full expression. I do want to take this practice to others. Please help!!!!!!!
is it safe to get personal training orpilates or yoga certification online? I am a dance teacher and would also like to be certified in this field. I saw this expertrating online certification and the rate is very affordable. Would you recommend this site or you have other sites or institutions that give credible certifications? Will online certifications be honored abroad? Thank you!
Simple Yoga Teacher Training? I was wondering what type of yoga teacher certification is necessary to teach classes part time at YMCA , Community College or any recreational center. I enjoy yoga , and would like to teach what I know to help others relax. However, I do not have the time or money to complete a hardcore 6 month yoga workshop. Are there any simple, short term Yoga Teacher Cert.'s for those who want to teach recreational/ part time?

am i ready to begin yoga teacher training? I have been practising yoga on and off for 5-6 years and 'properly' 2-5 times a week for the past 6 months. I am a buddhist and lead a life consistent with the yoga sutras. I have experience of dynamic, hatha and some ashtanga primary series yoga. I am very flexible and can do most postures but struggle with headstand due to past collar bone injury. I dont know the primary series off by heart but have good knowledge. I am very keen and feel I am ready to begin the year long training to be of an adequate level - what do you think?
yoga and strength training? Hi, I have recently been in a yoga class and like it very much. I also wanted to get more muscle tone so I decided to strength train. Eat food with protein, calories, and carbs. I am about 5'11" and weigh around 150 pounds. So i am not overweight, and my question is: Is it a good idea to do both Yoga and Strength Training at the same time? strength training, meaning gaining muscle by doing weights
We want to learn Yoga in Silicon Valley, Where do you recommend? My boyfriend and I are interested in taking yoga training or classes. We're interested in strength, flexibility, balance, and toning. We are also interested in the meditational, philosophical and spiritual side of yoga. My boyfriend is especially interested in Raja/Tantric training including Kundalini. Do you have any recommended places or teachers we can check out? We live in Silicon Valley in California. Our nearest cities are Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, and Cupertino, but we are open to hearing about places outside those cities if we don't have too far to drive (San Francisco is too far). If you have any other yoga styles that you would recommend, please let us know too. P.S. Anyone know of a laughing yoga club in the area as well? P.P.S. I'm not getting any answers to my question...is it too specific? If anyone has ANY yoga class they like, regardless of style, can you recommend it please? Thanks!

Can we combine Weight training with Yoga? I just wanted to know, if there are any side effects of doing both weight training and yoga. Because Yoga basically causes relaxation of your muscles and WT tightens them.. Expecting your valuable opinion, comments, experiences on the same. Thanks my dear friends!

Is it easy to find a job teaching Yoga? I am thinking about doing Yoga teacher training. I am very passionate about Yoga and would love to do a job where I could do it all day. I am just worried that it will be hard to find a job doing it when I am out of school. I don't expect to make a whole bunch of money or anything. I just want a nice little job doing Yoga. Is it hard to find?
yoga, pilate and weight training? is it ok to do simple yoga or pilate or martial arts exercises on the same day as my weight training workout or no? I do follow a good workout routine and healthy meals plans such as six meals a day with no junk food and I include a cheat meal once in a while with moderate amount of cardio. Yoga / pilates instead of weight training? I was a competitive swimmer my whole life and have been doing cardio and weights since I was 12. Now I'm 20, and have basically been doing cardio 5 days a week and weights 2 or 3 days. My problem is that I feel like I look more bulky than I'd like. My arms aren't very feminine anymore thanks to all those years of swimming. Would yoga or pilates in the place of weight training help me slim down? Will the muscle I have from weight training just turn to flab if I stop lifting weights? I always thought yoga didn't really work your muscles enough to produce much change. Is that true? I've done it a couple times and didn't feel much benefit from it, so I wasn't sure...
Is resistance training, pilates and yoga enough to sucessfully lose weight and tone up???...? I am f/25, I do 3x 30minute sessions of weights & 3x 30minutes of pilates & I do 20 minutes of yoga 6 days a week, I'm also on a weight loss program. In my first week i lost 2kg, of that only 0.4kg of that was fat loss...Does this mean I need to do cardio to burn fat????...Or that I am not consuming enough calories, so my body is burning off muscle instead....Please if anyone knows more about this, it would be greatly appreciated.....
Is it hard/easy to hit personal training target at mega gyms like Planet Fitness, Ftiness First, True Yoga etc I always felt curious whether it is safe to pursue a fitness career in big mega fitness centres. However i always heard of rumours that if you can't hit personal training sales target, you will be out... I have only work in small fitness clubs, and i have the necessary certification in fitness instructing and personal training. Perhaps, can someone here also share with me the success factor of working as a personal trainer in big mega gyms.....?
Yoga suggestions? hi, i would really like to get into yoga to try and tone up my body and improve flexiblity, unfortuanely going to classes of any sort is DEFINATLEY not an option due to where i live, i was wondering if anyone could recommend a website for yoga training. also as i have said i would like to tone myself and improve my flexibilty, i would also hope to achive things like better posture and strength, if anyone can recommend what type of yoga i should do, or any other similar work out programe, that does not involve going to a gym (im not lazy, its just not accesible for me) i would be really greatful. thanks x
